VERSE 1 It was Thursday quite some time ago If I do remember clear I was riding on a great grey horse With a man his name Revere And we disembarked At a gathering of nuns I said my name was Jesus And addressed them one by one The head mother spoke up clearly Better leave my girls alone You’re getting much too old for this And you’re wanted on the phone The only one who would phone me here Would be my dear friend Paul So I smoked another cigarette And decided to take the call This is what I said to him… CHORUS I’m the one But I ain’t no prophecy Seventh son I can do anything I’m the supernatural Monkey child I’m the supernatural Monkey VERSE 2 When I reached the phone I got a great big shock It was Einstein on the line my man He was dumber than a rock He wanted to know If I would meet him for a drink Said he had a great big problem Wanted me to help him think When I reached the bar He sat astride a little golden calf Said I rode it downtown man Just to get a laugh He led me straight inside I sat beside an ancient queen She said "You can call me Jed" "I've seen you in my dreams" This what I said to her I said... CHORUS I’m the one But I ain’t no prophecy Seventh son I can do anything I’m the Supernatural Monkey Child I’m the Supernatural Monkey VERSE 3 Batman stood behind me He was dressed in a flowing cape With a fairy angel child Who kept on shouting rape And Einstein popped the question Right there at the bar How can I take these good things and put them in a jar? This what I said... CHORUS I’m the one But I ain’t no prophecy Seventh son I can do anything I’m the Supernatural Monkey Child I’m the Supernatural Monkey Child I'm the Supernatural Monkey Child I'm the Supernatural Monkey I'm a Monkey Child

about

It only took us 33 years to make this album. We are very proud of it…

Highway 61 is a blues rock band from Los Angeles featuring Frank Meyer (Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs, James Williamson, Trading Aces), whose debut album “Driving South” was released earlier this year to critical acclaim. As evident by the singles “Black Magic” and “Stranger,” the band blends Rolling Stones meets Tom Petty classic rock with blues influences such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Buddy Guy.

“Elegantly dirty stuff, filled to the brim with cocksure attitude and the sort of irritatingly pleasing earworm riffs and melodies that bury themselves deep in your subconscious…” – Uber Rock “Driving South is what Aerosmith might have sounded like with a better singer, a more faithful musical core, and a lot less cocaine.” – The Big Takeover
